In Pennsylvania, who sources say that an officer's good deed backfired after his K-9 bit a six-year-old girl. The girl missed her school bus and was offered a ride inside of the officer's police cruiser.
Officers in western Pennsylvania say that the K-9 lunged at the girl on Wednesday morning and then bit her in the stomach after the girl's mother opened the back door of the police car. The dog then bit the mother's finger and the officer's arm as they tried to pull the dog off of the child.
Authorities say that the girl and her mother are receiving treatment at a local hospital for injuries and the officer's arm was injured. The dog, a five year police veteran, is being kept at the officer's home while detectives investigate the incident.
Police say the girl and her mother knew the officer was trying to do them a favor.
