18 Month Old Almost Drowns
On Tucson's south side, it is reported that an 18 month old had to be rushed to the hospital after a drowning accident. Reports indicate that the toddler almost drowned while at a mobile home park.
The incident took place on Monday at approximately 7:50 PM on the 6300 Block of South Fontana Avenue, which is near South Nogales Highway.
The toddler's parents told Fire Paramedics that they had lost sight of him for less than five minutes. As they started to look for him, his sister saw that the boy's face was under water in an inflatable wading pool. The sister pulled him from the pool and his grandfather began to perform CPR. When paramedics arrived, they said that the boy was breathing without assistance.
This is the fourth drowning accident that occurred in Tucson in 2010.
