Motorcyclist Killed during Collision with Car
This week in Phoenix, a motorcyclist was killed during a crash in the North Valley.
According to police, the motorcycle accident occurred around 4:45 PM at 28th Street and Union Hills Drive. It was reported that a motor vehicle made a left turn in front of the motorcyclist. The driver of the motor vehicle told officers that she did not see the motorcycle while driving.
After the collision, the gas tank on the bike ruptured and caused a large fire that burned the motorcycle and the car. The motorcyclist, who was 26 years old, was rushed to John C. Lincoln Hospital and listed in critical condition. He died shortly after and the driver of the car sustained minor injuries.
Police say the driver of the car was not impaired and that it was still unclear who was at fault for the accident.
