Plaintiffs Receive $63 Million Verdict for Truck Accident Lawsuit

In Oklahoma, new sources confirmed that a $63 million settlement was reached this Thursday in a tractor-trailer accident lawsuit. It is reported that the truck driver slammed into a line of stopped cars along a turnpike, which resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals.

A personal injury settlement was reached with the relatives of the eight victims who alleged that the truck's operator, Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc., failed to train and supervise the driver prior to the crash in June 2009.

Ricardo Reyes parents were killed during the trucking accident.  He said that the settlement should serve as a warning to other truck operators throughout the nation to engage in driver training and safety programs.  He said, "This is a terrible tragedy. This is something that didn't need to happen."
