Bike Accident Leads to Major Injuries
In North Phoenix, police were called to respond to a horrible accident this week involving a family of four and a motorized bike.
According to reports from police officers, the family's Honda Accord crashed with a man who was riding a motorized bike, causing the man to hit the hood of the vehicle and emerge through the windshield of the car.
The vehicle then careened about a hundred yards before slamming into a nearby brick wall.
Captain Tony Mure said, "When the impact on the brick wall, the bicyclist then flew from the vehicle, hitting a light pole and then hitting the ground, so we had three times the patient hit something hard, the car light pole then the ground."
Due to the severity of the accident, the bicycle rider had to be transported to the hospital and was listed in critical condition. The members of the family, a mom, dad and two children (ages 5 and 8) also had to be hospitalized.
