Forklift Operator Dies After Getting Pinned Under Machinery
In Phoenix, news sources report that a forklift operator in Paradise Valley recently died after becoming pinned under a heavy piece of machinery.
Fire crews from the Phoenix area arrived at the residence near 40th Street and Lincoln Drive at 6:30 PM on Friday. They then lifted the forklift off of the worker, but his chest and torso suffered traumatic injuries, resulting in his death.
At this time, the name of the worker has not been released. According to authorities, the forklift operator was delivering sod grass to a residence and the driveway was steep, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
The forklift accumulated speed as it traveled down the driveway and rolled, throwing the worker out of the lift and pinning him beneath. A resident saw the accident and called the fire department immediately.
