35-Year-Old Man Killed during Workplace Accident
Although they are not common, a workplace accident could happen to anyone working at a construction site. A family in Virginia knows this too well as they are mourning the death of a 35-year-old husband and father.
When police were called to a gas well in Duncan Township, there were initial reports of a construction accident. The responding officers quickly learned that the employee had been working the night shift at the gas well when he was run over by a forklift. While the accident is still under investigation by the sheriff's office, there are no reasons to believe that there was any foul play.
As with any workplace accident the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will send a representative to evaluate the worksite. If it is deemed safe to continue operations then the company can resume treating gas. Based on the initial accident report, there is no reason to believe that this accident could have been prevented by the company.
