Grandfather and Grandson Hit by Motorist
Two people are lucky to have not been more seriously injured in a pedestrian accident last week in Phoenix, Arizona. A 54-year-old grandfather was walking his 5-year-old grandson to school one morning when they were hit by a car. Even though they were walking within the clearly demarcated crosswalk, the motorist drove through and struck them. The older man sustained several cuts and scrapes along with a broken arm and the little boy received minor injuries.
Police are still searching for the man who struck them. Although the man did get out of his vehicle to talk to the grandfather, he quickly got back in and drove away. Based on eyewitness testimony, police are certain that they will find the man responsible for causing the pedestrian accident. Thanks to the fast thinking of the grandfather, the little boy was shielded from most of the impact of the vehicle.
