Recumbent Bike Rider Hit and Killed in Phoenix
On Tuesday evening, police from the Phoenix area reported that a bicyclist was hit by a car and later died.
According to police Sgt. Michael Long, the bicycle accident occurred near 25th and Dunlap avenues. He said that a motor vehicle struck a woman who was riding a motorized recumbent bike. The victim was approximately 50 years old and later died from her injuries at a local hospital.
Long says that the car hit the biker as the driver was making a right turn at 25th. The driver did not stop, but there were no signs indicative of impairment.
At this time, the name of the victim has not been released as officers are in the process of notifying relatives.
