Boating Laws to Remember
During the hot summer months, many people are taking their boats out on Phoenix waterways. However, while boating can be fun, it is important that people follow the law as it may prevent serious boat accidents from occurring. Below, some of the state's boating laws are highlighted:
In Arizona, all motorized vehicles must be registered. Once registered, decals must be displayed prominently on the watercraft without fail.
People who are under the age of 12 are not allowed to operate any type of watercraft that is powered by a motor. The only time they are allowed is while they are under the supervision of a person who is over the age of 18.
Operating watercraft while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is strictly prohibited. In fact, if people are caught boating under the influence, they can face criminal charges.
All vessels must operate in accordance with posted speed limits.
