Truck Accident Shuts Down Interstate

A serious truck accident shut down Interstate 40 last weekend as officers investigated the scene of the crime.

According to the Department of Public Safety, a 31-year-old woman was driving a Ford Explorer eastbound on I-40 when she rear-ended a semi-truck. The woman had four passengers: a 2-year-old boy, a 7-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy. The older children were airlifted to the Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas, while the younger two children were brought to a local hospital.

Initial reports show that nobody in the Explorer was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Although no additional details have been released, police are not yet ruling out impairment as the primary cause of the truck accident. There is no news yet regarding the condition of the semi-truck driver.
