Nightclub Sued for Accident

While nightclubs are known for serving alcohol, they do have a responsibility for ensuring that none of their patrons become seriously intoxicated. However, that is just what happened two years ago at a club in the District of Columbia, when bartenders continued to serve alcohol to a young woman who was clearly past her limit.

As a result of her intoxication, the young woman got into a car and caused a car accident with serious injuries. One woman was killed in the accident and the other victim, a soccer player for the D.C. area, is now suing for the serious injuries he sustained. He claims that the nightclub and the company that was hosting a party there that night are negligent for continuing to provide the young woman with alcohol.

The driver was sentenced to two years behind bars after pleading guilty to maiming while driving intoxicated and involuntary manslaughter.
